My first time dipping my toes in the 9+ pool.
9.25 grosso
Ace 66 AF1
97a classics 56mm

And waiting on a set of candy bars to come on Monday

That is a great setup. Almost perfectly to my tastes. RIP Jeff

love this site for shaped boards, the cats cool too.

https://infinity-skate-shop.myshopify.com/

Site says they don’t ship decks?
[close]

lol as in to reference shapes and dimensions I'm sure..
[close]

In that case, yes, it is very good and super helpful.

So good and helpful I wish I could support them and buy some decks...

Bit of a bummer because I just got paid and was hoping to spend some money before my wife notices and makes me spend it on boring shit like bills and groceries.
Yes! Lol

Had to try a Dane shape, and thought some reverse kingpins in my 169s would be cool too. 54mm F4 conicals and Bronson Raws. ND rails.

Looks great. Considering doing the racing stripe on my next setup (currently do an open strip over at least part of the top graphic).

I didn’t want to start a new thread so I figured I’d post up here. I came across a set of Indy 215’s and was looking for some deck recs. I was thinking one of those 101 Natas reissues or that ATM click Donovan Rice. Fire away! Thanks!

I just bought one of his boards, can’t wait to skate it

I just saw more of the old shaped eagles are making their way back through DLX as per the latest Stock Report video, sizes like the Green Giant 9.56 along with others I knew were coming back like the Beach Bum yellow short board 9.5 and the Blue Meanie 8.75 size too.

yeah, with a 9" grip sheet and not covering the width, i'd rather to strips sideways.

and what happened to your ace falling off? was too loose?
[close]
sadly... too loose
[close]

I ran my aces finger tight until I had the same issue a while ago, rethread and some loctite got me right again though.

My buddy said at a certain point for loose enough trucks just cause diminishing returns and becomes a liability, which I don’t necessarily disagree with. BUT I’m just gonna keep riding my shit jiggly loose because it’s a solid flex when someone who is objectively way better skates on your deck and says some shit like, “ah man how do you skate this?” And you get the incredible cop out of bit landing tricks and blaming it on the trucks. “Ah dude I would have had if my trucks were tighter, but I just can’t do it.”

I ran into my trucks falling apart due to a loose nut (bolt of lightning between my legs) on my old stage 11s until I removed the washers and razored the top stock (orange) bushing a bit. Its been perfect for a long time now.

Feel like every week I’m in a board crisis.
Fooling myself that trying a smaller board somehow I’ll have more tricks. Just get frustrated and go back to what feels good.
This barbee is pretty fun.

So I've been riding the Mutant shape fore the past year and I have to say it clearly is my favourite board of all time!
But now after months of riding the same shape I am on the lookout for something new.

Unfortunately I have one pet peeve when it comes to big boards: I don't like the fact that most boards >9.5 are only 31.x in length. I like the fact that the heroin board has a 32 length and it makes it suitable for every terrain.

Doe you guys know of any shapes in the 10' range that have a 32' length?

The last boards I rode where the Black Label Lance Mountain board, the Mutant and the Fixer Pig Tank.

Yes, some of the current Black Label decks are big with dual kicks (like normal boards) especially the Lucero street thing, but that is a BIG board, so maybe the Adams deck which is more normal sized.

https://blacklabelskates.bigcartel.com/product/jason-adams-el-dorado-9-5-x-32-75-xl-punk-point-black-dip

9.5" x 32.75" 14 5/8"WB

I have rounded off the punk point on a few boards when people were not keen on having a nose like that, which still works well as it is usually very long.

The green giant Antihero eagle is back in DLX and that is 9.56 but also quite long, maybe too long.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I hear you on the length thing. A lot of 9+ shaped decks have sub 6” noses, which keeps the overall length down. I’m looking at setting up a heroin streetballer, but it seems too short coming off a 33”+ 9” popsicle. I rode that Adams punk point and retired it when the nose mushroomed.  Definitely enough nose there to round off a bit. Big fan of BL’s bigger shapes.

Scram, Black Label, Blast, and Heroin all have big boys. All good companies to support as well.

Damn, I see a lot of Scram Boards in here and would really like to try one. Unfortunately very hard to get here in Switzerland.

Now with all my weird superstitions I am really contemplating pressing and cutting my own boards.

Nice negative space thing with the grip. Which speedlab wheels and how’re you liking them? I’ve been riding some bombshells, but the honeymoon is over. I think one of the bearing seats is fvcky.

Here’s my current set up

Atm Click Donovan Rice 10in
Indy 169s (w the red bushings can’t remember the duro slightly softer than the yellow)
OJ Nomads / reds (not my first choice but what the shop had)
Enjoy tummy rails (they’re okay, first time using rails, not sure who makes the best ones these seem kind of cheap)
Mob

This is my first big board just got it yesterday. So far it’s super super fun, going from 149s to 169s is an adjustment, maybe I should have gone for 159s not sure. Definitely recommend this board, it was only $50 at the shop. It’s made at bbs too.

Well damn, this thread made me scourge the shops for a Dane1, so now I need to get some new trucks, fuck. Stoked on the Bistro graphic though

So should I go with Ace 55's? Or wider? Would rather ride a flying carpet than a hot rod...

Edit: Just saw the post by @dancing's above, and fuck does it look good with those 55's.

Don't go wider than 9" Ace or 9.125" indy on the Dane 1. 8.75" trucks work too.

FrozenIndustries I’m looking forward to it dude, this summer I hope

Jtrpma it’s one of the best spots I’ve ever skated, Totally smooth and every curb is broken in

Eggie Vedder thanks dude and if I see you there I’ll let you take it for a spin, those things are totally hammered down now and I wish so bad I could slide all 3

beandemon thanks a lot dude and I’m getting used to the smaller size right now cause I usually skate 60 but so far I’m loving it. They check all my boxes for width, shape and slidability. These are the dads board shop ones I think they’re called
