The V8 is slightly drilled back roughly 1/8inch when on the standard holes. This is compared against a standard cast baseplate.
Thanks for posting.
No it's not the offset of each truck is actually 5/16"
https://ibb.co/8zshcq4 It's not the angle just hard to get an exact photo but C-C it's clearly between 1/4" and 3/8".
If you mean the plate it's a hair under 1/8" longer if that. When viewed from the side the part you slide on is a hair thicker and a hair more upright. Ventures have the best plate slide for me by a notable margin so my guess is this helps when the wheels are further in and you have more nose contact.
Yeah I can confirm that its a little closer to 5/16 than it is to 1/4.
Makes it a bit too short for me all round on most boards
Thanks for the info and especially the pic.
I drill mine as close to the other holes as I can, with some I did more recently. I don't go hard on my boards, so I don't think I would ever have a problem, but at least I know I can get it down a bit more on mine and feel pretty comfortable on at least one shape - the DLX 8.38 - that I like a little more tail, but not too much.
I probably sound like a broken record, but I would be stoked to have some trucks with middle holes, like Thunder, more so than offset to either end of the baseplate in Venture and Indy. Not a worry though, almost every other board I skate works well as is.
