Is there someone here who is good at skateboarding and can give feedback on the && shape ?
It's a best seller but most buyers are just old &/or bad at skateboarding people who are like "this shape is amazing".
I'm pretty sure this shape is good for && but awful for any normal skateboarders.
We're in scam territory, right ?

There is only one guy I know, yeah an older guy, but he still skates better than half the younger dudes and he loves those AA boards, but I think he had even rounded off at least one of them as he mentioned something about that, or didn't need all the extra bits on there.  Maybe totally reshaped another one down a bit too, come to think of it, but he is good with that sort of thing and can still ollie higher and generally skate better than most.

I don't pay that much attention to either party, but I can appreciate a little AA footage here or there without ever wanting to buy his boards or try a "shaped" board like that, but others who are in the old / bad category definitely love the guy and lap up his boards, etc.

Powell definitely have a money maker on their hands there with that one.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Plain undyed urethane is a milky / creamy colour, off white, almost yellowish translucent but then darkens with age, so when you see those older Spitfires, the original formula, or even older Formula Four wheels, that is generally natural urethane.

The old "potato" or "onion" wheels as some people called them.

* Thought I would look up some and this is what came up too:

Natural polyurethanes vary from a light tan (almost yellow) to a medium-dark amber (almost greenish). This variation is noticed from supplier to supplier, and even within a given supplier's production. Black or other colored (pigmented) polyurethanes do not typically exhibit this variability in color.

Thanks. Kinda thought that but we've had white(ish) wheels for so long thought maybe the urethane they use could be different.

So now that DVS is trying to come back with the Berra squad, got me thinking what they've been doing before this? Did they still have a team? Did they sell the company at some point? Does anyone know a skateshop that even carries them?

Always had soft spot for the company, since they were my first skate shoes but not really looking forward for this comeback.

Hi, Im about to sell my Thrashers from the nineties and I wanted to know if you guys could give me any idea about what price I could ask for them. I saw some issues in ebay for like $25 dollars, but I just wanted some advice from you guys, (Im not from the States), just logged in but Ive been reading the site for a while, like a year.

I have some really nice issues, like the 1995 green cover with Fred Gall, the Mike Carroll SOTY, Chris Senn SOTY, Salman Agah SOTY, all in good shape, Anybody from the U.S has an idea of how much could i ask for each?

Not really a question, just a rant. Less than a week ago i spent 120 on a ftc backpack and the zipper already broke. Thats pretty fucked up. I got this to replace an Osiris backpack from literally 2005 and all the zippers on that bag still work great.

Is ftc really ok with being lower quality than Osiris? Thats pretty embarrassing. I could forgive if it was like 40 bucks but for 120 we are getting into Patagonia territory.

So fuck ftc yall wack.

I have a Volcom travel backpack from 2001 and i would say it is stil 9/10.

Zipers are bulletproof on this one. Amazing how the quality of thing has gotten worst.

Aw, before anyone say anything. This 2001 backpack was made in china.

You can edit the header from the first post, or the content of any of your own posts, or lock the thread, or delete the thread.

That's pretty much it.

Is it wishful thinking to hope that NHS/Santa Cruz will make an 8.25 VX Everslick Dressen Roses board, with the graphic not psychedelic or anything but the normal blue background with red roses, and with ATV concave/kicks?

did anybody here skate the reissued cab 4s? i have an opportunity to get them for cheap. i’m used to vulcanized shoes, though i like most thin cupsoles and shelltoes. can’t do thick sole shoes really, but those are vans so maybe they are not that thick?

What is the point of this board? I just don't get it!  :'(

Palace Heitor pro s29 8.375x32.1 with a whopping 14.875" wheelbase.

Very short itty-bitty tail and a huge flat nose. You're average dsm shape (at least from my experience), but on steroids.

Rode it with a pair of Indy standards 149 and wow, what a woeful setup that turned out to be.

Rocket flipping everywhere when skating the tail while also being super hard to get any decent pop on the nose.

Thought tranny would feel nice due to the wb but no, it just felt so clunky and excruciatingly slow to spin around on tricks à la disaster or 270 feebles.

So yeah, what's the purpose of this board? The only pro I could find was that it felt very stable while holding grinds on coping, but that's honestly it.

I have not seen any in person, or even really seen the shoe other than the very few pics out, but going by a lot of the other cup sole options Vans have and how fast people go through them, I would say that they should not be overly thick and bulky like that era of shoe used to be.

The guys I know who skate the Wayvee or other cup like soles say they still skate the same as vulcs just a little more on the side edge than anything else, which surprised me as I thought they would have been way more bulky feeling, much like all the older cup sole shoes we used to have back in the 00s.

Seems they still want to keep board feel in there more so than having a long lasting shoe like some other cup options.

It can take some time to adapt to a new shape.

Some others have bought this board, or looked at it and asked the same questions.

I think of any board, this one might be the best candidate for using the double drilled baseplates, as per Venture V8 or others like my DIY double drilled options, just to bring the tail in 1/4" or so.

Still haven't seen any of those in person and declined buying one while on a really good sale, just to see what the fuss was all about, but I imagine that someone somewhere liked that shape or thought it was a good idea, otherwise they would not have made it.

As to everyone else, I don't recall any person having a favourable opinion of it when they did skate it, so I am happy to not have bought one to test or even just look at.

A comparable board was the old Heroin 8.25 which had similar dimensions, but I think they discontinued that shape too, in favour of a more normal overall length and wheelbase.

I would be drilling in the tail at least 1/4" or maybe 3/8" and go from there, if you didn't have the double drilled baseplate, but that is just me.

Question about spray painting boards. Been riding blanks and I kinda miss scratching off paint and having slide marks.

Is there any type of spray paint I particular I should get so it doesn’t stick too much? Also as I live in an apartment with a porch how long should I let them dry before bringing them inside?

Sorry if these are silly questions. And help/techniques would be appreciated.

As thin a coat of paint as possible and higher gloss more so than matt finish, otherwise just wax over everything you want to slide and away you go, or very fine smudge of wax on the deck itself.

As to drying time, if you don't want to have paint smell going through the whole place, most are dry within a few minutes, but that smell lingers for hours, so when I paint anything, I leave it outside / in a garage or shed or something, where ever possible, compared to bringing it inside to the room you are currently in.  Maybe putting it in the bathroom with the fan on could work well enough too.

* Some of the guys I skate with always sand back and then spray paint their boards, usually a bright colour first and then black or something over the top, sometimes just a really light spray, so that when they get a little slide going, the bright under layer really shows through.  They always wax their boards a whole lot too, but I am not a fan of too much wax on everything - only a little wax if I really need it - but I can see it works really well for them.

a tip for spray painting decks... the default nozzle sucks. if you can find one with a nicer tip or buy like a graffiti tip. You can get a nice even coat with one pass.

I heard rumors Sour is going out of business but am a fan of their 8.5 with 14.2 WB. Asked to see where else I could find the shape and, sure enough, Sk8mafia has it. Gonna be wild to look down at one of their bloards under my feet but a good shape is a good shape 🤷

Whole slew of people using HLC shouldn’t be hard to find that shape, if you feeling super cheap, skate warehouse has HLC blanks with those exact dims for 35 bucks, currently riding the 8.25 HLC shape really enjoy how mellow they are

are there any alternatives to vans slip ons?
had these for three months, now separating
barely skated them
and not looking to buy a new pair every min
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Wonder what would be the best to paint foxing tape from white to black.
Not feeling messing around spray paint, could a Posca do the trick?

Kiwi shoe polish is what I used to use. There's ones that are basically like a big paint pen. takes like 30 seconds to go around a shoe then a couple mins to dry
