What is the point of this board? I just don't get it! :'(
Palace Heitor pro s29 8.375x32.1 with a whopping 14.875" wheelbase.
Very short itty-bitty tail and a huge flat nose. You're average dsm shape (at least from my experience), but on steroids.
Rode it with a pair of Indy standards 149 and wow, what a woeful setup that turned out to be.
Rocket flipping everywhere when skating the tail while also being super hard to get any decent pop on the nose.
Thought tranny would feel nice due to the wb but no, it just felt so clunky and excruciatingly slow to spin around on tricks à la disaster or 270 feebles.
So yeah, what's the purpose of this board? The only pro I could find was that it felt very stable while holding grinds on coping, but that's honestly it.
Some others have bought this board, or looked at it and asked the same questions.
I think of any board, this one might be the best candidate for using the double drilled baseplates, as per Venture V8 or others like my DIY double drilled options, just to bring the tail in 1/4" or so.
Still haven't seen any of those in person and declined buying one while on a really good sale, just to see what the fuss was all about, but I imagine that someone somewhere liked that shape or thought it was a good idea, otherwise they would not have made it.
As to everyone else, I don't recall any person having a favourable opinion of it when they did skate it, so I am happy to not have bought one to test or even just look at.
A comparable board was the old Heroin 8.25 which had similar dimensions, but I think they discontinued that shape too, in favour of a more normal overall length and wheelbase.
I would be drilling in the tail at least 1/4" or maybe 3/8" and go from there, if you didn't have the double drilled baseplate, but that is just me.
