To me his bag of tricks doesn't seem to be more or less limited than that of other pros. He surely has his go-to tricks but which skater doesn't? I love his heelflips because he pops, tweaks, and shifties the fuck out of them. Like them (or him for that matter) or not you gotta admit that he adds something new to the game just because of the way he does them.
The line-up's going to be interesting. I'd bet for either Greco or Lizard to have last part and Dickson or Moose to have first part. Those two are surely gonna go pro after (or at?) the premiere as well.

Ellington big spin front boarded hollywood 12 and impossible the set. Neens heelflip over the burbank middle school 16 rail was the best heelflip ever captured on video, I liked it better then his ender which was varial heel over the same rail. Seems like he is doing the best job of staying sober and having fun with skateboarding still, which you can't really hate on. He also comes out with more footy then half of your favorite pros.

I've been to his hometown for my old job and it's a half hour to 45 minutes North or South to Milwaukee or Chicago, so I don't think he was hurting too bad for spots. That said, the median income for that town was probably like $45,000 (it was pretty much schools, a Wal Mart and some fast food restaurants) and I doubt there was much to skate within the city itself.
At the end of the day, dude deserves to be pro regardless of his background.

Hansen, Greco, Ellington and Dickson were stand outs I thought.yeah all the darkslides were definitely Mullen, there was few Mariano type bank to ledge tricks, tons of Jeremy Klein homages all the obvious ones but my favorite was a little more obscure, it was when he parked the front corner of the car next to the kicker and ollied over it which i think was Jeremy Kleins second to last trick in untitled.
Greco's part seems like it's full of homages to other pro's parts - Rodney Mullen, Klein, Mariano etc.
Hyped to see it again.
Pretty sure Antwuan had 2 tricks - a gap one and a picnic table trick but it's hard to remember from a premiere.
I can not stress enough how good everyone's parts in this video were. My favorite was by far Jim Greco's part. The bank to bench tricks and different darkslide variations were so good. There were fastplants, handrails, jumping down the gnarliest shit he could think of. Nollie backside flip down Carlsbad was only the fifth trick in his part. That's how good everything else was. -The Rumney/Kirby section which is short but everything in it is really good from both Pat & Kirby
-Like 10 mins or so of footage that was either unused/second angles
-Behind the scenes of the whole Cadillac destruction photo shoot thing from the Thrasher article
& I think there might of been like 1 or 2 other things but I don't remember what they were.

Right here! I didn't like that part because there was too much flip in flip out the entire way through it and a switch 360 flip nosegrind is not a trick that I care to see or even think about. Greco's part was a perfect mix of everything and seeing him do five different darkslide variations in that part after having never done one in a part before is awesome. His trick selection is aging well along with him, rather than trying to progress further and further and further in technicality as he gets older, like Guy is doing.

This video is a breath of smoggy LA air, it gets all the small shit right.totally agree with you, especially on the VX shit. Also the kid in the friends section is Rowan Zorilla, he's flow for baker and vans.
Editing was so on point, everything is just paced so well and there wasnt a single song that didnt fit. Those snoop and slayer songs would be unusable in other videos. Even that disco song in the beginning is well placed, not too many people even know whats up with that stuff or how to make that come off the way it did. A lesser person wouldve just gone with a greatest hit.

Grego's ender should have been the 50-50 transfer down that steep bank. I think it would have made his part better but I do like how he totally did stuff you never really see him doing. Almost seems like he got influenced by Mariano or something with all that bank to bench sttuff. I bought the video today from my local shop, and thought it was pretty good. I expected alot better from all the hype on here. I can't say I enjoy the Neen ninja kick style though.Only thing that was lacking was Moose and Ellington. Somehow i thought they would put out legendary parts due to their status'.. Moose 360ed over a rail 4 YEARS AGO, for everyone saying he should be pro is wrong. You can't come out that strong and put out this type of part 4 years later. I also think some of the editing complaints people had with Alvarez's part in Pretty Sweet are even worse in the Deathwish video-its cut so quickly in some parts I can't even watch it-as soon as the wheels hit the ground it cuts to the next "hammer." Now let's get to the clarification.
When did I say "hijinx?" I posted the video because 90% of it is dudes skating shit that they clearly aren't sure if they can make, has a major likelyhood of bodily harm, and often times results in horrific slams. That ain't hijinx, that's what gnar skating is. When I think of gnarliness I think of Sean Young bombing hills in the rain, I think of Ryan Reyes doing wallies on handrails, I think of Gonz and Cardiel going for it with the street airs into the sunset carwash before anybody had skated it (Greco was the FOURTH person to jump into that bank, that ain't hesh, that's hollywood), I think of dudes like David Gravette jumping onto rails with endless kinks and bends in them that nobody else would even consider rolling up to, I think of Ben Raybourn doing transfers at burnside that include him falling for about 12 feet and then doing it again because he wanted to do a more proper grab. The deathwish video didn't have any of that sort of thing.
I think I've made my standards clear, and it doesn't fit mine. If others have the same standards as me, they will probably appreciate what I wrote, and will spend their money on a pizza instead of a video.
I never misrepresented what is in the video, I just pointed out that I find what is in there boring after the first view, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks like that when it comes to skate videos. If you think that sort of skating is fun to watch, that's fine.
You aren't going to convince me that I find the video entertaining. All you are doing is dickriding the baker boys by trying to put down anybody who has a different opinion.

It's really tough for a video to come out these days, nothing is ever going to be as memorable and timeless as videos that came out before the internet was the primary source for skate media. Crazy footage comes and goes, and it's a desensitization to how talented these people are. I know some people on here hold some weird taboo to going to demos when your older but it always helped me gain some perspective on people's abilities.

Whilst I was pretty hyped on pretty much every part in this video I think it kind of showed how much heavier the Baker roster is to the Deathwish team.
Figgy, Nuge, Baca, Herman, Reynolds, Spanky etc. make a much better video than Greco et al.
But I'm going to give best part to slash. song choice, trick selection and the beard made me pretty hyped on the whole thing. Made me want to skate.
Whilst Dickson's part was sick, I'm not that interested in his style but his ender was pretty amazing.
I hope that Baker Boys goes down the path of releasing combined Deathwish/Baker videos like Crailtap does.

Then it goes to some pretty simple tricks on bigger rails, and some flip tricks down gaps and some more techgnar rail tricks. It was a great part, much better than Furby's. I could see people hating on it cause its too clean, or he goes average speed and doesnt take 10 extra unneeded pushes.
Although keep in mind that I also like the 10 extra unneeded pushes also, but only in parts that are able to work with it.

& your whole argument about how they all skate the same stuff & no one pushes themselves is a little off too. there are a lot of new spots in this video that will very likely never get touched again. the rail slash krooked? the bank greco ollied into? how many tricks did greco have in that part that he has never done before? how many types of skating did he have in there that he has never touched? how many spots did he skate that no one has skated? i've never seen slash do a lot of those ledge tricks. these dudes pushed themselves. you should've known what you were about to watch, you know who these guys are. and i don't see how people skating a bunch of ramps they skate all the time is 'risky'........
